Started activities in 2000, and since 2009, based in Berlin, a magnificent first by musician / artist Shingo Inao who pursues the expression that expands the keyboard instrument by the original sensor instrument system (electronic instrument by sensor / virtual instrument). Full album "NiMal" is completed.
Inao said, "NiMal is a Japanese reading of << 20 >>." It is a coined word derived from the German word "niemals". It is intended to be improvised and abstract by removing es (it in English) from the word niemals (never in English). However, I named it because it sounds like something that floats between Japanese and German. " Born in 1980, Shingo Inao started making installations using sensors in 2000, and after connecting to the current sensor instrument performance activities in Germany, he compiled what he had recorded so far in 2020. The number "20" always lies there.
Beginning with the flickering and quiet piano of the M1 "Opened Segments" reminiscent of Mark Rothko's abstract paintings, the M6 "Klavierstück II" has a taste reminiscent of Joe Hisaishi's Ghibli songs in recent years. It is a high-quality and beautiful album that you rarely see.
A sensor instrument player / artist based in Berlin.
He has been producing sound objects and installations using sensors since he was a student at Kunitachi College of Music, and then moved to Germany in 2009 to perform with his own sensor instruments (electronic and virtual instruments using sensors). start.
He has performed in Berlin's Transmediale and Club Transmediale (2008, 2010), Karlsruhe, South Germany's ZKM (2009), Vienna, Switzerland, Italy, St. Petersburg, Canary Islands and Cyprus. I do.
In recent years, he has pursued an extension of keyboard instruments (piano and clavichord) with his own sensor instrument system. The focus of his activities has always been on the "body (sex) that emerges through the expansion of musical expression." At the same time, he has an artist side and has been exhibiting in the United States, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, etc. since his solo exhibition at Galerie Birgit Ostermeier held in Berlin in 2008.
His work group, which is produced around "the relationship between things and sounds", encourages reconsideration of the perception and representation through the viewer's body and ears in space. In the field of contemporary art, he also provides music for experimental video works, and has provided it to Ming Wong, He Xiangyu, Stefano Kanto, etc.
In 2018, he formed an improvisational unit sehno with sensor instruments and keyboard instruments + drums with Masaya Hijikata, and released the album "VITRA" from the experimental music label Kaiser Söze Foundation in Warsaw, Poland.
In the release tour that traverses the country, the tense program of improvising on the spot in various places was well received.
The purpose of Inao's activities across disciplines is to find and pick up factors and thoughts that exist only between the disciplines. He thinks that the moment when the body movements found in his music can be "heared" may shift a part of our perception.
Then, in November 2021, he self-directed a group of songs that were introspectively recorded in his atelier, and released this work "NiMal", which was put together as one album, from PROGRESSIVE FOrM.
